The AWS Toolkit for Visual Studio Code is an open source plug-in for the Visual Studio Code that makes it easier to create, debug, and deploy applications on Amazon Web Services. With the AWS Toolkit for Visual Studio Code, you will be able to get started faster and be more productive when building applications with Visual Studio Code on AWS. The toolkit provides an integrated experience for developing serverless applications, including assistance for getting started, step-through debugging, and deploying from the IDE.

  • For example, you don’t want to enable the JavaScript extensions in a Go project. There is a list of recommended extensions, which include all the most popular tools. Since I edit lots of markdown files for my blog, VS Code suggests me the markdownlint extension, which provides linting and syntax checking for Markdown files.
  • Then find the source code for that extension and look at what they did and what APIs they used and go from there. Additional tools. There is an open source extension for Visual Studio that provides additional features for extension authors that I can highly recommend.
